"Each track of the album 'Expensive & Dirty' is a separate story, its own world, its own emotion. This album, being a significant event in the history of music, undoubtedly has the ability to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who appreciates rock and roll."-Voxwave Magazine March 2024

With roots firmly planted in the foundations of Rock-n-Roll from the 1960s and 1970s, Funky Bluester pays the reverence and homage due to the masters while simultaneously putting their own stamp on the genre. We call it "Quality Rock-n-Roll".

Funky Bluester has been earning a reputation as a must-see live rock-n-roll act in Atlanta and around the southeast. Drawing from influences in all types of music, the trio pumps out original rock-n-roll that hearkens back to a time in music when live bands put every ounce of energy into their show and left it all on the stage after every performance.

A time when the only thing that mattered was the song. The riffs. The rhythms. The feeling of rock-n-roll. That’s what counts. Funky Bluester focuses on delivering a power packed show of original music carrying on this tradition.

The Allman Brothers Band. Cream. The Who. Free. Santana. Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys. Gov’t Mule. The Grateful Dead-Steeped in the style and techniques of these and similar classic artists, Funky Bluester continues the tradition of writing great songs with catchy hooks that any listener will appreciate.

When people ask "what does Funky Bluester sound like?" Our answer is always, "It's Rock-N-Roll. And we guarantee you'll like it."

Recent shows in Atlanta include the legendary Smith's Olde Bar, The Hard Rock Café, Blind Willie's Blues Club, Fat Matt's Rib Shack, The Northside Tavern, Darwin’s and The Moonshadow Tavern. Funky Bluester has also taken the stage at the famous Nowhere Bar and 40 Watt Club in Athens, the Wayfarer Music Hall in Monroe, and numerous local festivals and establishments in Atlanta and the southeast. Funky Bluester has performed weekly for three and a half years at Southern Brewing Company in Monroe, GA as the Tuesday night house band.

Other higher profile performances as a featured act include the Sounds of Summer Downtown Concert Series in Monroe, GA, the Autumn Heritage Festival in Loganville, GA and several times as a featured headlining act at the Columbia County Blues, Brews, and BBQ festival in Augusta, GA. Funky Bluester has also had the honor of being the featured act for several Atlanta Blues Society events.

Funky Bluester is based out of Monroe, GA.

Recent review of "Expensive & Dirty" from UK music reviewer Steve Swift-

"One of the main things which is appealing about Funky Bluester is that, well, people go on about authenticity, don't they? You need to be authentic, be authentic and Funky Bluester are because they sound like they've just got into the studio, plugged in and played, and they are therefore finding that lightning in a bottle-an organic authenticity that so many other people want."- Steve Swift January 28, 2024

Recent review of "Quality Rock-N-Roll"-

Funky Bluester’s ‘Quality Rock-N-Roll’ is lovely, groovy and ready for a good time. It has a general party feeling- they aren’t saying “be there and be well dressed.” They are saying, “Just pop in if you feel like it; we’ve got some cheese footballs and some hooch. But we’ve also got some cold cordials if you’d like it. And then we’ll just sit and talk. A cigar might be smoked. We’ll sit around the fire and talk. Maybe a coffee on the go as well. We’ll talk about music and what you like and then you can hear some of ours and I know you will like it."  I think you will too-Steve Swift, Steve Swift’s Rambling Reviews, July 1, 2023
